In 2017, Bermuda will host the 35th America's cup. The build up to the oldest trophy in international sport is well underway and attracting a new kind of visitor to the island. Jimmy Spithill is a remarkable athlete - he skippered his first America's cup boat in 2000 aged just 20 and led Oracle Team USA to win the title in spectacular fashion in San Francisco in 2013. On Wednesday, he will address the opening day of Convergence 2015 on what it takes to succeed against the odds.
Over 30 speakers from the industry will be discussing the same topic as business models are stressed to the limit by the market environment. Panelists include Greg Hagood (Nephila), John Seo (Fermat) and Ali Al Ali (Goldman Sachs) and there will be a series of Bermuda Shorts from the likes of Mike Millette (Hudson Capital), Michael Bennett (The World Bank) and InsuranceLinked's own Tim Hall (NASA).
